As a graphic designer this thing for me was a blessing. I can understand your view of waifu2x, and why you think that is crap, people upload to Gelbooru some horrible ass upscales, but i tell ya, its not that bad.


Its probably the anti hotlink system of Gelbooru blocking the load of the picture.

this happens to be the only amber image tagged with "foot_tease" so if i can somehow blacklist the combo of amber and foot tease, no posts get hit with collateral anyway

As far as I can tell you just pop it into waifu2x and ggwp its perfect right out the other end.

I do zoom in and preview everything beforehand to make sure it isnt complete trash (which once in a blue moon it is), but I just give up on it because given the very limited settings I doubt anything I could have done would have resulted in a better picture. So I guess maybe I just don't know how to use it.

are yall using some sort of futuristic Waifu2x with more than 1 setting? aka something that isnt waifu2x.udp.jp/

but... i thought you werent supposed to upload upscales? all of my posts that were upscaled got banished to the shadow realm.

I see 2.5 possibilities: 1, my upscales were terrible and I didn't know it, 2, someone misunderstood and assumed I had uploaded an upscale of something that was already on gelbooru, or 2.5 I HAD actually uploaded something already on gelbooru without noticing.

but they only got shadow-realmed after I brought up waifu 2x in one of my comments, if they were truely terrible upscales I would assume they'd get shot down before I ever brought up waifu2x since surely you'd be able to tell, and if it was a dupe surely it'd get deleted with the reason "dupe", not "AI upscale"

im rambling on but I just noticed my post that WASNT upscaled is still deleted so I gotta go appeal again I guess, or go fish through the comments to find why it wasnt appealed last time

i.imgur.com/d8VVxpy.png you can tune it, its better than the web version and produce better results. But if you want results fast you need beefy hardware.


You have to avoid uploading stuff upscaled with waifu2x to gelbooru, its not generally welcome. If you have to use it dont go overboard with it, use 1.5x or 2x upscaling at most.

Do not upload posts that have been upscaled with Waifu2x at all unless you're making other edits (e.g. decensoring) at the same time.

Which one will delete? both are from original artist source
- Larger but low quality with jpeg artifacts (1830x1530 from twitter)
- Smaller but high quality (1560x1330 from baraag)

Would delete the poorly compressed Twitter version.

Are any of the following possible?
