Now Viewing: Request to edit/delete self-created comments
Keep it civil, do not flame or bait other users. If you notice anything illegal or inappropriate being discussed, contact an administrator or moderator.
I recently posted a comment on image #93656 and I made a blatant mistake. I downvoted and requested the comment for deletion and the mod tells me that he/she won't delete it because "I want it deleted." In order to prevent any more confusion and possible frustration, I would like to see the possibility to edit or delete self-created comments, like on Facebook. If that won't be possible, could you delete my comment please?

I thought it was someone else asking to delete your comment for some stupid reason. I went ahead and got rid of it.
We are not supposed to delete images because the person who posted it wants it gone. I, too, was always under the assumption the same extended to comments.
I've reported my own comments before. Usually due to incorrect misinformation or outdated information... or making comments while drunk.
Mods usually oblige.
Then again, that is different than asking mods to remove it just because I want it gone. I wanted it gone because someone else probably would have reported it anyway with good reason.
To be honest, as far as the flagged post queue goes, I end up unflagging a lot more comments than I end up deleting.
Now, if you include comments I find on my own through or through the comments page, there's definitely a lot more deletes, but a lot of the people who flag comments do it because "I DON'T LIKE WHAT THIS PERSON SAYS THEY SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO SAY IT"

Like the people who quote entire Family Guy scenes as dialogue even though they should know better.
