There's a tag on the wiki page for "comic" called "yonkoma" but it has no page or tags. Was it removed or was it just never used?

Yonkoma is aliased to 4koma.

Edit: On Danbooru. Here we just don't use it.

New Translator here and I have a couple of questions

1. According to the translation Wiki, there are a few rules regarding translation tags. If I use the translated tag, I should remove all other translation tags on an image. But what If I use the check_translation tag or the partially_translated tag? Do I keep the translation_request tag aswell, since the translation is technically not complete if I use these tags? Or should I still remove the tag?

2. I've seen a few people use hearts in their translations if the original image has some in the text, such as this one here: gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3607358

How do I make these hearts (and possibly other stuff aswell)? The only html tags I've found are on this site here and it's a really limited list: gelbooru.com/index.php?page=wiki&s=view&id=21278

1. As I recall, the translation_request tag automatically goes with check_translation and with partially_translated. That is, it's been made impossible to remove the translation_request tag if either of those is present.
2. If you search things like 'heart symbol Unicode', 'eighth note Unicode' or 'star symbol Unicode' online, you should see the characters you want high up on the first page of results.

I just translate a post if I happen to come across one and am not otherwise preoccupied. Question regarding this from the wiki:

"Stick to the meaning of the words. Keep interpretation of your own out of the translation--Japanese is often ambiguous, so your translation can and should be too. If you want you can leave a translation note saying what you think they're referring to."

I'm not sure what this is saying. How should you translate Japanese without interpretation? We say something like "arigatou" means "thank you" but in reality it doesn't mean "thank you", but it can and often does share a very similar meaning to that particular English phrase. I mean not long after that the wiki also says "Wooden translations mimicking the Japanese word-for-word can hardly count as translations," which I agree with.

Is it saying not to add meaning outside of the context of the image? Like "this character is saying this but what they really mean is this deep down in their heart"?

I guess don't translate saru (leave) as fuck off if that's not the context. At the same time don't translate iruka (dolphin) as sea pig. That's what I get from that.

Currently on mobile, so I can't add notes, but the top panel is just "I'm sorry" repeated over and over, and the bottom panel has panting followed with "Please take care of me."

Sorry about the rookie question, but how exactly do I translate an image?

I want to translate an image but the option to do so doesn't appear on the sideboard and the keybind for it doesn't do anything (following the howto on the wiki).

Does an image have to be tagged translation_request to translate it?

If so, what if the image wasn't originally tagged translation_request, but was updated later on?

And is there some sort of account requirement to meet before I can start translating?
