The issues here being that porn made 'by men for men' is problematic in some way, and a lot of gay dudes aren't into the typical muscledudes seen in Bara. What I should have said is that "gay male hentai in general" is made and consumed almost exclusively by women, to avoid this type of meaningless semantic argument. Straight people in general rather like to watch two people of the opposite gender have sex.
Is most bara "problematic"? Admittedly, every bara I've read was, but most hentai seem to be "problematic". Also, I had my tongue firmly in cheek when I was on about that "LOLZ READ BARA" stuff. Next time I'll use a emoticon for clarity. :)

I personally find it hilarious how out of touch some can get on how men act.
If not giving credence to a stereotypical persecution complex makes one 'out of touch', then I guess I'll have to live with it.[/quote]
Yeah, I'm rereading that line, and I'm not sure where the hell it came from. I'm guessing it was part of another sentence/idea and it got left over during editing process, because I could have been talking about national deficit and it would have more to do with that first sentence. My bad :p

the subplot of this thread reads like any generic argument on /y/
Surely, it's not that bad. The last time I was on /y/, I was in some flame war about if yaoi counted as "gay porn".
On an unrelated note: Good fucking GOD, am I getting a lot of mail in my inbox. 10 days later and they're still coming in!
