I know the administrator already shut down the idea of getting xp from tagging (makes sense, because tag poisoning is harder to track down) but it would be nice if you could get xp from the forum. I don’t see a lot of sense commenting on most pictures.

Well yeah, there is that, but that isn't ALL of them. A lot is mostly making corny jokes or, rarer, actually asking a question related to the pic and promoting discussion. Turning off "Display All" every once in a while helps.
It also helps to upload/make non-porn related comments yourself, which I guess I'll do more of.

Some of them are pretty useful, though, like translations and people informing others of obscure cultural customs, and other things you wouldn't understand just by looking at what's in the drawing. Plus, there's nothing wrong with expressing arousal on a porn site. Some of the comments make me cum. ^_______^

I've only once found a comment that was at all arousing in that sense but the translations and discussions bit -- however rare -- is valid

I don't think I've ever seen a hot one personally, but I do love the translations. I also think I've seen some artistic interpretations that's made me changed the way I've looked at things, but I doubt I could pinpoint an example.

I wish these were more common but the majority of images with sizable artistic intent have no comments. Why? No porn.

Yeah, I'm definitely weird, then. All my faves pictures have people talking about what they would do to the girl, or complimenting her figure, and occasionally saying some really sexist/degrading things, but I try to think little of those.

True. Does anyone have any ideas how we could fix that? Do we WANT to fix it? I kind of do, without losing the soul of the site.
Not gonna lie, I cringed for a second thinking it was one my worst comments on a pic.
Edit: OH MY GOD I JUST FUCKING RAN OUT AGAIN! IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I GOT A GOOD ONE!

There's lots of other things you can comment about:
* I've commented with translated artist commentary several times, and also provided back-story for images that are part of a set. Not everyone will see the full set, so the later images may not make sense without that info.
* It can be interesting to comment seriously on aspects of an image, such as how well the artist conveyed a character's feelings. Some artists are incredibly good at this, so that you can tell exactly what a character is thinking/feeling just from their facial expression.
* And there's plenty of room for snide/humorous comments, like the one I left a few days about it being the first time I'd seen Windows 8 being raped. (That image was of Madobe Ai & Yuu being raped.) I didn't even like the image all that much, but it was amusing to think of it that way.
