Humans are naturally tribal animals with an in-group bias, although we've seen that social engineering over multiple generations can be effective in reversing it (ie: replacing in-group bias with self-loathing).

The goal is to turn that "inherent racial bias" into just a species bias. We are all human at the end of the day, just fighting for our survival. Race is kind of a social construction anyway, and I feel like it holds us back. Having someone be described by their ethnic origin makes a lot more sense to me than being described by an archaic color/looks-based racial classification that was used to control or enslave people. In other words, I hope racism goes away, but sadly I don't see that happening any time soon, the people who keep it alive know who they are. (or at least I hope they know)

Doesn't work too well considering the most extreme hate groups wont even consider people cut of different cloth to be human.

I know, I guess I'm just optimistic that those people will have a change of heart or their views will fade into obscurity.

That's where I draw the line and stop bothering. It's like debating evolution with a religious fanatic. 'You shouldn't mistreat people based on the way they were born' is all well and good. 'Biology like, doesn't apply to humans man', however, is foolishness of the highest degree.

I don't much care for the return to middle ages thought processes- particularly in that offensive views or even offensive known facts are not valid on the ground of hurting someone's feelings or challenging someone's limited view of the world. The simple fact that humans have inherited genetics and sexual dimorphism should not be drawing the same ire from indoctrinated western audiences that the heliocentric model of the universe did from the Church in the the 1500s, but it somehow does.

I never denied that inherited genetics and sexual dimorphism exist. Race and ethnicity are two different things. Like for example, I'm ethnically German, and I feel like that says more about my genetics than just saying "I'm White."

Between the two, race is not the one I'd personally call a social construct. Ethnicity? Perhaps, as culture is shaped by social behavior. Either way, I don't endorse discrimination*, but I also feel as though there's far too much stigma in acknowledging simple biological differences, to the point where things like job preferences between men and women or Asian people being "over-represented" in high academia are written off as some sort of discrimination conspiracy in lieu of any actual evidence.

* At least not based on the way someone is born. It is perfectly valid to discriminate against religions, cultures, ideologies, furries, or anyone that enjoys dubstep.

Maybe I have to do some more reading, it's hard for me to grasp concepts relating to race and ethnicity because in reality I really don't give a shit and treat everyone in my life with the same respect. And for the record I think I agree with you on the representation thing.

Screaming sexism cannot and will not change biological facts like men have superior upper body strength, as they have evolved to have that. Outliers exist, but as they say, exceptions prove the rule. Nor will mandating that half of all workers in construction needing to be female will change the fact that women mostly do not find construction work appealing. Though, you know, I never do see these same people calling for an "equal" male to female ration in jobs dominated by women.

But hey, since they cannot change biological facts, instead they push for mass lowering of standards for everything, enacting fines and demanding preferential treatment, trying to "fix" a problem that didn't exist.

This isn't equality. This is the bigotry of low expectations.
