I once tried it myself when I was 19, however it didn't seem worth it. I did notice my voice deepening about a month later, as well as an increase in energy which I'm sure was a coincidence. It may have somehow helped with self control around junk food, but I was always horny so I gave in eventually.

Jacking it was otherwise not an issue for me before I tried out the nofap, it never kept me from doing stuff because I didn't do it that often. I'll admit I went a bit overboard when I quit though.

Well if you always need instant gratification and you're mind is nothing but porn then I think you have bigger issues than fapping all the time. Fapping is just the symptom of your fucked up mind and desires which you have steered in that direction with your actions. But the good news is that you can steer them elsewhere by filling your life with other things, and things you are engaged in.

Also if you need to constantly touch your wiener then you're a fucking child, grow the fuck up.

It's great to exercise self-control and makes the things you desire more rewarding. And this doesn't mean playing porn movies in your head but trying not to rub one out, don't pull a Gandhi because that's cheating. Look at the lives of people who always choose instant gratification and then tell me that's what you want. If it is then best of luck, but if not then go cold turkey for a while, and don't give the bad habits an inch in your life.

Edited my comment to make it a little less harsh lol. I mean well, really.

Mine is, in all perfect honesty:
Do all things with moderation, and you won't feel compelled to obey such a meme. Taking a need away unnecessarily counts as an unnecessary need.
Religious context is fine within humane limits, I suppose. Just keep your physical and mental health balanced.

tl;dr: get a girlfriend (or boyfriend).

Actually I have, it is, and now that it is mine, I don't regret it.

Pleasedon'tsayJesuspleasedon'tsayJesuspleasedon- You aren't Catholic, are you?

Because masturbating with another person is way healthier than coming to terms with your own urges, right?

You said that sarcastically like it pisses you off out of disbelief, but it is indeed correct. Sex as a whole, as well.

Too soon. Bet.

But if you don't mind me asking, why is using somebody for pleasure and potentially ruining their life as well as your own better than safely and harmlessly doing something that is healthy for every teenager and young adult? What's the net gain besides having the moral high ground? I'm not angry or offended. I seriously don't get it. Sex should be something special between two people who love each other, not just another commodity like fast food and macbooks.

Welp, that was fucking weird. I can't tell if you can't read, are a troll, or just not are not an adult yet.

I'm 30 and have been in a couple (as in LIVING WITH my boyfriend) for quite some time now. I think I know what I'm talking about.

It's 100% about moral high ground. Not to mention, I'd argue that adults should be independent before even considering a relationship, rather than being dependent on someone else for financial, mental, or emotional support. But the sad truth is that many (hell, even most) people are too immature to consider the implications of using "romantic" relationships as a crutch for their own failures by being parasitic to another person- or too self-centered to notice or care.

Funny seeing somebody use logical fallacies against another's views when they themselves possess more cognitive dissonance than a homeopath at a bath salt dispensary.

The argument from experience is also a fallacy. You're not the only person on here who has had sex for crying out loud.

Assjacket I know me and you clash on a lot of issues but in this case, I couldn't agree more. Relationships can make you or break you, especially when you're a full grown adult. When you're young the worst that can happen is love can hurt you emotionally, or perhaps physically and at the most ruin your social life, but unless you knock someone up or get a nasty STD, you fail to see the long-term consequences of being with the wrong significant other. Specifically, I seriously wonder how much better off I would be financially if I had avoided making certain decisions.

Oh well. Least I'm not dead.
