Game devs at, and to extension, Capcom, is now targeting game mods now, the Japanese is forcing their Sharia Law to the whole world as usual.
They made image pages of oh why mods are harmful, cheating and it's piracy.
All for the sake of "public order and morals".
Which is very ironic considering their history and even to this day, with Street Fighter 6's hot designs.
Here's more info from this e-thot over there.

It's all so tiresome.

Damn, that sucks. I'd really hope this is one of those things where it doesn't really follow through efficiently, and only a very small number of mods get targeted. I hope they don't start mass eliminating all the good mods.

Wait, do you actually think she's an e-thot?

Let me play devil's advocate for a second.

I don't like that they target mods. But they have some valid concerns. And that's all I will say.

Only mods that should be targeted are:

1. Multiplayer cheating mods that harm everyone playing.
2. Mods that would hurt Capcom fiscally, such as getting access to paid DLC content for free. (They are a business, after all)
3. The really disturbing mods that are basically borderline illegal. Mostly looking at the nude Sherry Birkin mod, since she's supposedly modeled after a real life child.

I wish they just deal with cheaters by sending them to a place with only cheaters and bots, and they are barred from ever playing with normal people who just wants to play with their skills. That way it will take awhile for them realize that they are already banned before they can create a new account.

Say goodbye to you graphic overhaul mods. And no, those are not valid concerns, at least from a logical and even their stated ''moral'' perspective.

also
“However, for the purposes of anti-cheat and anti-piracy, all mods are defined as cheats. That is to say that mods that are not officially supported by the game, are impossible to distinguish from cheat tools, implementation-wise.”

That's just a big fucking lie right there, as anybody who's done mods or been involved with games at all for the past 20-30 years can tell you. Tons of fantastic games have had massive modding communities AND manage to implement ways for fair multiplayer games without being like Riot or Capcom with their Kernel level malware. Take old Steam or Bethesda and their games as a good and shining examples of how to actually behave like a decent company and not be openly hostile to your fans.

The main reason I still play games is because of mods, baring a few exceptions, I can't remember the last time I've played any of my old mainstay games unmoded. I've played the same games for decades now because they were modded, its what's allowed them to still be relevant or fun decades after their initial launch. Communities still exist for things like the goldbox games, or ultima, or unreal, or tes, or quake, or doom, or team fortress classic, or wolfenstein, or duke, or mario hacks, or pokemon hacks, or ...well you get the picture.
Not only are capcom wrong on this, they are fundamentally at odds with the reality of what gaming is.

And the biggest red flag to this is wanting to remove oppias which is a bullshit cover just to claim they want to stop cheaters. Heck they'll redefine the word cheater like how twitter redefine sexism and genocide.
