I would have no problem if Capcom took down paid mods though. Not only is it scummy, but it is direct copyright infringement.

It's fine for modders to have Patreons, tip jar donations, and early releases for mods, but paying actual money for them? Locking them behind the Patreon or donations? Screw that.

If It was only that and cheats in multiplayer, then I would'nt make that thread in the first place.

Don't worry, I think the thread is worth discussing, but I also think it's too early to be declaring Capcom as a menace.

Wait until they actually start taking down a substantial amount of mods then we can start saying "Capcom wants to destroy the modding scene and everyone who wants to uncensor the game with sexy mods."

Capcom have already shown they're scum sucking parasites with on disc DLC. Even if they were to pull back tomorrow, I refuse to ever trust them. They just need to sell off the Rockman IP, then I can never, ever have to look at them again.

... Well, Dragon's Dogma 2... but then, I don't trust them to not fuck that up, either.

I only trust devs, not executives.
Like that MM11 dev literally said that they let the other games i.e the collections and 11 breath more unlike the "Dark ages" where it was oversaturation.

Seen Capcom been targeting the sexy mods lately because they're "immoral". Strange coming from a Japanese company where their media have always traditionally had ecchi present to some degree. Not a fan of this faux purity age that we've been wallowing in for the past few years. I play games to take a break from reality, not be reminded of it

It appears Capcom has just now implemented a new type of DRM into their back catalogue games to block out mods. Also said to tank performance, namely frame drops.

What the fuck, Capcom? If they do not apologize and reverse this decision soon, then I'll gladly begin pirating their games. Not because I use mods often, but because screwing over your consumers like this is not respectable.

They are adding DRM to older games without DRM? That sucks so much.

Nah they should double down and see the self inflicted wound of the consequences of their actions.

People are saying "Crapcom is back" and "Wouldn't be capcom if they didn't start fucking up their success"

And I agree. They couldn't stay based for too long, now they've got to fuck it up, just like early 2010's Capcom.
