so apparently I couldn't respond to DMs because "too inactive" despite me liking posts all the time
so I decided to comment more
and then "you can't DM because racism"
...I have seven comments on the whole site, like five of them I made after the "too inactive" notifications, can anyone check for any hints of racism lol

Remember when I responded recently to someone making the same complaint?

That they almost always have horny needy comments?

Well, check the comments of OP. Exactly the same style of comment. The same pattern.

And OP, if you want to get rid of the limits you have 2 options. Comment more or buy an ad code.

I'm sorry but how does racism fit into any of this

It may just be a generic system message, not necessarily related to racism.

Your ISP or VPN probably assigned you a new IP that had been previously banned because of someone else using it to post racist comments.

Unfortunately, since all IP bans are permanent, your only options are to wait until your ISP or VPN assigns you a new IP, or turn off your VPN if you're using one.

If you are using a VPN, be aware that VPN IP's are used very frequently by spammers, so most VPN IP's are likely to be banned.

Clarification: this is not me wanting to do this, or planning to do this, or wishing it would happen, or anything similar to that. Just me doing a what-if scenario and wondering if there is a way to prevent it from happening.

What would happen if the Admins/owners were not able to post because someone in their area had been IP-banned, and the admin/owner was then rotated to that IP?

Would that cause all the admins/owners to be locked out of the site permanently?

To me there needs to be some way to remove IP blocks so this doesn't happen.

No. It is easy to change your IP and circumvent IP bans.

I actually ran into that. Someone got most of the IP's from the cell tower near where I work banned. I was locked out of commenting, editing tags, or responding on the forums for several years, though I could still delete posts and comments and send mail or mod notices.

Eventually lozer modified the code so that being staff bypasses IP checks for certain actions, so this is no longer an issue.

Being on a banned IP has never blocked you from logging in or doing certain actions that don't affect any other users or any of the site's content, such as browsing or adding favorites.
