139k results for a mobile game that released in 2021?

My god, that is just insane.

I understand some of the factors that are in play here, and am enjoying the spread of waifu art, but just how did the numbers blow up stupendously in such a feeble amount of time?

Likely because of the fanbase

Degens from AL who decided they wanted to be a teacher. Or something.

I don't know, I don't play it.

Because there’s a thousand different characters in it. Same reason kantai_collection, azur_lane and touhou dominate here.

Gachage in general, they know how to make appealing characters.

Some games gather a fanbase slowly (ZUN releasing his 6th Touhou game, "Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil" back in 2002) or pretty quickly like Kantai Collection.

Although I think gacha games are prone to a lot of fan art because they release a lot of pretty good character designs early on, giving fan artists more to work with. So Blue Archive and Genshin Impact are in the same boat

Touhou: Characters released over 20 years, with backstory, based on mythological beings, interacting in unique ways. Flat chests.
Genshin Impact: Story-focused gameplay in a huge world with unique playable characters.
GLF, Kantai Collection + Azur Lane: Lots of characters themed consistently around something in reality, with interactions between them unique and relevant to IRL relationships.
Blue Archive: Females designed to be sexy, a lot of them with no significant design consistency, backstory, or even gameplay for that matter. Boring!

So basically it's just a psyop. The 20ft tall headless corpse being used as a gigacomputer under Apple's R&D materials warehouse in the Baja Desert calculated that something with such a reach as a gacha mobage being used to develop synapse channels between the reproductive instinct centers and the repeat motor skill "muscle memory" parts of the human male brain would inevitably lead to advancements in technology functional to weapons of mass STELLAR destruction, so its thrust in to the forefront of focus for creative-driven virgin male humans was coordinated by astroturfing several terabytes of porn of the blue haired "adult" with the striped underwear and those two twin looking "adults" who have the game console or something.

The South Korean government was notified of this plot by those who have lived long enough to remember the last time it happened, and has been threatening to take legal action against Nexon if they don't put their boot down on all of the pornography being produced of BA. Nexon has legal authority to protect their IP from pornographic libel but instead have been basking in the publicity, contributing further to Jupiter's destruction. The South Korean government is now threatening to shut down the game servers if such materials are left online. Nexon's been reluctantly doing what they can within SK but their reach doesn't extend to countries such as Japan where fanworks aren't in violation of IP laws. As a result, specops commando units of gacha addicts have been deployed to report any and all Blue Archive butt pics to the site hosting them, citing child protection laws. Several high-profile artists have already been deplatformed with their banishment being publicly celebrated by these reneagade splinter cells. Rogue artists have established their own bunkers and are now producing more works of Blue Archive just to spite these cybercombatants.

It's a war between Korean Shamans and the future BAAEL particle accelerator, fought in proxy by a game publisher and a Japanese lawyers, who themselves are fighting via proxy between virgin art-producing men and virgin game-consuming men. it's a tale as old as time, but this may be the last time it's ever told.

Trust me there will be more events like these than you might realize, South Korea is a "occupied" state, controlled by unhinged feminists at the time, which they were just marionettes of a lunarian puppeteers who want to unify the entire world by spirituality.
