[Inquiry] Inconsistency in Upload / Moderation PolicyPosted on: 12/23/23 11:44AM
Me again, after over a year.
I couldn't help but notice that after the FUBAR handling of my mass upload and tagging campaign of a particular artist over a year ago , that were promptly deleted, that over the last year some of those same images were being uploaded yet again to the site.
Now, when this all went down, I was innocently asking about the ability to mass upload, as I was diligently working to consolidate all of this artist's works into one place rather than scattered around 10 different Boorus and on various sus websites. The response I received, of course, was from one particular admin / moderator that, despite content from this artist having been on this site for YEARS prior to my campaign, it was all in violation of the content curation policy, and all of that hours of work was summarily and dispassionately deleted.
Frustrated with this absurd and arbitrary decision, I flagged no less than 1000 other works by western artists, a large number of which the same mod deleted most likely hoping to appear even-handed rather than risk being accused of maintaining double-standards. Yet, in the year since, a number of duplicates of the same artist that I had posted originally have been popping back up thanks to the Danbooru auto-import. Nonetheless, I took it upon myself as a helpful and contributing member of this community to flag each and every one of those posts with the same reason I was given for all my time and effort being discarded.
Imagine my surprise, then, that checking back in every so often, not a single one of those posts was ever deleted and, in fact, were unflagged for deletion. Now, unless there is a "time limit" on reviewing a deletion flag before it is automatically cleared and the previously cited shortage of review staff is the culprit, it would APPEAR to ME that someone on the staff is reviewing these posts and deciding that they DO NOT violate the content curation policy.
Thank you for reading my laborious rambling to get to the query: Are there in fact double standards regarding content on this site? Is there any actual official, enforced with an iron fist ideal that is being maintained by deleting perfectly worthy art on one of the most popular platforms which also supports fringe tags (understandably making it the ideal to consolidate works)? If there is no issue with this particular artist's works, and I simply ran afoul of a biased and potentially incompetent mod, then I would either ask that my works be restored, or I will simply begin reuploading everything once again. Otherwise, I suggest someone start deleting.
