Translations with DeepL

Hi peeps, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on DeepL Translate. I've been using it to translate Japanese games and, from what I've seen so far, the results are pretty good. It's definitely not perfect and requires some adjusting of the translation, but it seem much better than what Google Translate outputs.

I started using it here on some of the translation_request images where I then post the results I get in the comment section, given it's not a 'true' translation.

Now that is something I am interested, but it doesn't seem to support OCR. I need something better than Google Lens.

You can use OCR to just get the original text, then paste that into DeepL.

Yeah, that's what I'm using. Just get the snip tool with OCR, convert to text, then paste into DeepL. Machine translations have really come a long way, since before something like "She was hot and wet" in Japanese would come out as "Summer watermelon sale" or some nonsense. It still doesn't get the exact meaning, per say, but it gets close enough to infer what's actually being said through the images context.
