Whenever I find out a hentai artist who I have enjoyed for several years does scat or fart art, immediately my opinion of them as an artist just tanks down deep into the ground. Like, I may still have some appreciation for their artstyle if I enjoyed their artstyle to begin with, but I no longer consider them "based" or a "man of culture". I just lump them into a deviant category that shares a tier with diaperfurs, deviantart horrors, and grown men who shit into their own adult diapers and then masturbate to them. I don't even acknowledge them as a hentai artist that I enjoy anymore, I just become completely numb to their art, and I just think they're sick in the head.

Is this normal?

Personally I think it is normal and something most (normal) people go through, but I don't know if I'm just being too trigger happy or too sensitive. I'm open to hearing a differing perspective and to hear how others react upon finding out.

The artist is question is minakami_(flyingman555), who I was a big fan of since 2015. I even tried mimicking his artstyle back when I tried doing art. He recently released a scat pic to the surprise of many, and in my defense, several people (like at least 30 or so people) reacted with confusion, disgust, and/or disappointment, so clearly I'm not the only one.

Well, like you're implying with trying to "mimic their artstyle", I can imagine you probably had some level of respect for them. And yeah, that kind of thing can especially hurt sometimes, I get you.

But like people said, it's still very normal to have differences in morals/ideals. You don't owe a justification to yourself for that.

When these kinds of differences start to hurt themselves or others, however, is when you really need to be concerned.

Yeah, back when I was like 15 or so, I would heavily reference his art when trying my hand at digital art. I had a lot of respect for him (as far as hentai artists go) mostly because I loved the way he drew fat asses and his unique coloring style. So to see him do scat work out of the blue.... immediately my opinion of him just soured more than a rotting cave lemon. I could say some really mean and nasty things, but I'd rather remain civil.

Never rubbing one out to his art again, that's for sure.

I feel the same with Futanari, i hate futa with an unending passion. However, many artists i like occasionally draw futa.
I have learnt to judge artist by their quality instead of what they draw, and bookmark only those drawings you like.
I have also learnt to not judge kinks i don't like, because someone else might like it, i also have kinks that someone else might not like, so, enjoy what you like as long as you don't harm anyone and let others enjoy what they like as long as they don't harm anyone.
