I have now reached the stunning realization that at some point or another in this universe, even the insects and plants were considered monsters.

I guess on the one hand this would make the demon lord sort of good, if it weren't for the fact that now both the human race, and, by consequence, every monster in the world is facing extinction.

Also, I've realized that with pretty much all livestock and much of the known fish species turned into sentient beings, what in the hell do people/monsters eat for meat... O.O

It doesn't say that the livestock turned into sentient beings, it says the monsters did. Like weresheep. They didn't use to be sheep. They used to be weresheep that didn't look like a human female. Same with all the other were-animals. They weren't regular animals before, they were their respective were-species. Some of the monsters would have always been humanoid, like elves, and all that happened to them was the males disappeared.

Think also how in most fantasies anything can me made into a monster, even butterflies, all they do is enlarge, em give them some sort of attack and BAM instant monster...

Hm we need a butterfly monster girl now....

Think there's a lack of insect girls in general. Think the antgirl, beegirl, wasp, Beezlebub, and maybe one or two more are the only ones I know of.

and once more we continue to question the motives of The Palace, with the directive to keep the people from actually knowing what they're dealing with and killing anyone who survives. another pointless, greed driven war, maybe?
they can say there's a fear of human population decline, but if they keep killing survivors instead of leaving them with the chance to breed with other humans, they're as much contributing to any population drop as the mamono.

So: "We've published this book for your convenience and to educate you. But you may not tell anybody."

They're not killing survivors, they're killing people who contribute to the whole "Breed with monsters to make more monsters" thing.

Also, they just said don't carry it around in public. Like I said in the older version, think of it as a shotgun or rifle, it's fine if you keep it around at home or use it in private, but, naturally, if you carry it around out in an open street you will be arrested.

it says "all citizens taken away by mamono". so that means if you get away, you're still dead meat. so all survivors of being captured by mamono are killed. what's hard to get with that?

and again, keeping the information away from people doesn't have any real benefit. it's just maintaining a climate of fear that needn't be maintained in that manner. plenty of the profiles are unsettling enough about the whole "you become breeding stock forever" factor.

and your weapon arguement is kind of stupid with regard to a setting where people are likely to carry weapons regularly.
