Anon3, you forgot to mention that Rei's part alien, which sort of invalidates any conventional measure of blood-relation.

Granted, GENETICS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY (especially considering the Angels are apparently made of some sort of "frozen light" crap and not normal organic matter), but who cares, it's fiction, and in fiction, everything is possible, which is why it is fiction.

...Why am I even thinking about this? It's Rei and Shinji kissing, and Rei looking embarassed and Shinji, for once, looking like he's actually got a spine.

Rei is part angel but she's part of the angel that gave birth to all current life on earth. So technically she is a terrestrial(did I spell that right?) being. She may be a partial clone of yui but much more of her genetics r from lillith.
