Mari was told to increase her synch ratio with Shinji, so that is exactly what she is doing. Having Suzuhara aid means there will be careful monitoring done.

Here's to a successful result, but to make sure this works, they'll have to do it repeatedly.

If it works for them, perhaps Rei and Asuka can try for a 3-person synch with Shinji? The finale would be a 4-person synch of course.
