So THAT'S why Skyward Sword Link isn't in the new Smash Bros. and Twilight Princess is. Good for him.

The link in the new smash bros looks like TP Link but it has solid colors instead of that dark texture so it looks more like a weird combination of SS and TP

It may be that TP Link had to lightly disguise himself so he can pass off as SS Link to join the next Smash Bros.

Well I guess they are too busyy runing around naked in the Forlon woods and populating Hyrule and shit to join Smash Bros. You can go now instead TP Link.

Actually, based on statements by the creators, it's sounding like the style of the next Zelda game will be somewhere between TP and SS, so the Link we see in Smash Bros. 4 is probably the Link from the unannounced new game.

More or less every Zelda game not on the Windwaker timeline takes place between TP and SS.

Glad they went with TP Link. The smash bros. games always strive to give characters their most detailed looks for the graphical showcase and TP Link is by far the most detailed and coolest looking Link design. Although... they did decide to give Samus her Other M suit which looks laughable compared to ANY of her suits in the Prime games, or even the super Metroid version.

What if his final smash is his wolf form?

Anon5: Methinks you haven't played a single one of the classic Zelda games (ALL of which are in the 3RD timeline [neither TP nor WW]).

Also, art style has pretty much nothing to do with timeline placement in the first place.
