true. however, the reason for that is that people wanted to call her two different things. they used the one they had more images for, and aliased the other name to the same thing to make it easier to find images of her, rather than make people remember two different names for the same character. Asuka Soryu Langley vs Asuka Shikinami Langley i believe(don't quote me here on names)
