I think we'll see much of this in 4.0. While Asuka's body hasn't changed much due to LCL exposure, she is ultimately a 28year old(only a year younger than 1.0/2.0 Misato.

Since Shinji is still 14, in both body AND mind, I'm sure Asuka will treat him as such throughout 4.0.

I will not happen, but not because of her age. Misato was 29 and her relationship with Shinji threatened to go well beyond friends/guardian-child.

True it won't happen because, to put it simply, Asuka is over her little kiddy crush from 2.0.

She and Shinji knew eachother for (and I'm being generous when I say-) 6 months, tops. He hasn't been a part of her life for 14 years, and unlike her, he hasn't matured or changed much.

If Asuka was secretly waiting 14 years for a boy she knew for 6 months, then she has problems. (Says the fan who's waited 1...2...3...4...5...6 years for the rebuild movies...)
