I replaced the namco tag with tecmo.
I've read somewhere that Oobari actually was in talks to make a DOA anime back in the day. Since he already did anime adaptations of other fighting games - Gowcaizer, Toshinden, and Fatal Fury, it wouldn't be a surprising if it's true. Actually it would have been perfect.
