Typical japanophile bias. Nobody points out how every anime character is the same with a different hair style but when a western artist does it suddenly it's a bad thing.

Anime characters just look like mass-produced dolls.

Actually it's more like a common complaint towards many, many artists.
It's a fairly common thing for an artist to stick to a set of faces they draw often.
