cynthia. nothing against the pretty french actress, but cynthia have a better team. she's one of the champion who gave me the more trouble. (after Steven in emeral, because my team was underleveled, and Lance in Red and crystal, because dragon where damn resistant to nearly everything back then.)

Wierd, i've never have any trouble dealing damage to Lance's team back in them day, my only trouble was getting the opportunity to attack before being blast into oblivion by Hyper beam or thunderbolt (effective against most ice users back then, as they usually had the water type too).
Dragon has always had the same resistances and weaknesses over the years (except for the added Fairy type of course), the real problem came from their type diversity offensive-wise, making them some sort of glass canons. In fact, i always have a dragonite in my lvl 100 team for gen1 stadium, backing up either volteon or articuno (the latter knowing Bubble Beam.
Back to the topic at hands, i agree, Cynthia was a real tough champion, almost on par with Red in fact, while Diantha, well, she's just free Exp... :)

mypitha: yes, dragon had the same weakness, but in gen 1 as only one dragon type move, and it was of fix damage, so they where really weak only to ice, and so, when my lohklass and my blastoise where K-O, i had nothing left to deal ice damage to dragonite. after that. Even if the dragon type weakness remained the same,
so, you know have more option and possibility on how to deal with them, that why i did'nt take that long to defeat the garchomp (spiritomb, however, was another story).
for the question, Cynthia, no hesitation, diantha is a nice character, but not that much of a trouble to fight. while cynthia was a pain, except Red no champion cause me more trouble.
