i'm very confused as to if this IS American...

The coat has a mandarin collar so it would have to be WW1 to be American... The helmet is possitively NOT WW1 era, so this can't be American... It looks more Russian to me, but even so it is missing various WW2 Russian emblems... If it is WW1 then that's one stupid looking doughboy helmet...
