This is cute and yet true. A few Zero found out the hard way that SBDs and F4Fs can look the same.

Also SBDs could look like a Zero.

The U.S. Navy ditched the red circle from the middle of its roundel and the red/white rudder stripes because their planes were getting shot at by their own AA gunners, who thought anything red was a hinomaru.
