It started when a video of a German youth going into a violent berserk rage while playing Unreal Tournament was posted online in 2006. Many people thought the video and the eponymous kid's behavior was genuine and the video sparked considerable controversy as well as parodies done by people who found the video amusing.

However, the video was actually staged by the star of the video and he made the video in order to parody the fear in Germany at the time that video games were corrupting children. He has also made other parody videos.
