Now Viewing: mr_xTag type: Character Refers to the Tyrant that operates as one of the main villains of the B scenario in Resident_Evil_2. He is a large, bald, and hulking mutant who wears a longcoat. He is also the inspiration for the character Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 who can be thought of as an upgraded version of Mr. X. He is sent via helicopter by Umbrella to cover up the events of Raccoon City and kill witnesses. He approaches his prey by calmly walking towards them and uses his superhuman strength to eliminate them. He can also break through walls and is the only enemy in the game who can do so. In the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, his role is greatly expanded. Whereas in the original, he only appeared in a few scripted encounters, Mr X now acts closer to his successor Nemesis; after his introduction, he will relentlessly stalk the player throughout the game, and, until the final encounter with him, can not be killed, only temporarily delayed. He is also given a fedora. This incarnation of him notably boosted his popularity in the fanbase.
