It is a bit of a spinoff of the Gradius franchise but the two series have no story connection. Nevertheless, the gameplay style is similar, and the series has numerous references to other Konami games. Unlike Gradius, the player characters aren't in space ships that hide the pilot's identity. The playable characters are predominantly attractive women, with the exception of one male, riding something like a flying motorcycle. The artwork is done by Mine Yoshizaki, the creator of Keroro Gunsou.
