Cuff links are items of jewelry that are used to secure wrist_cuffs or sleeve_cuffs. Cuff links can be manufactured from a variety of different materials, such as glass, stone, leather, metal, or a combinations of these.

Unlike buttons which are sewn onto cuffs, cuff links are detachable and are secured onto cuffs through a variety of methods.
The visual difference between the two is that buttons have holes (so that they can be sewn on), while cuff links do not.

Not to be confused with cuffs or handcuffs, which are both wrist-restraining devices used in BDSM and by police forces.
