She is a serious, proud, and highly talented witch from a well-respected 1500 year old lineage of witches. As such, she is proud of her extensive knowledge of magic and holds her seemingly incompetent classmate Akko Kagari and Akko's idol Shiny Chariot in disdain. Her peers and Luna Nova's staff believe that she has the most potential to become a great witch out of all the students in the school. She is generally accompanied by the equally arrogant but less skilled Hanna and Barbara, but unlike the latter two, who enjoy picking on Akko, she limits herself to criticizing Akko's bumbling and initially feels that Akko's behavior is unbecoming of a witch. In spite of her pride, Diana is more honest about her shortcomings than Hanna and Barbara are and has a stronger sense of responsibility. She also comes to respect Akko's unshakeable determination to become a witch. Akko and Diana also have more in common than they realize. Both believe in the greatness of witches, although they go about promoting this in different ways, and have a tendency to cause problems due to overconfidence. Furthermore, even though she insults Shiny Chariot in front of Akko, she also secretly admires Shiny Chariot. While the film and TV series reboot do not explicitly draw attention to this, a young Diana can also be seen in the crowd happily watching Shiny Chariot's show in the film's opening scene.
