Now Viewing: guileTag type: Character Guile (ガイル, Gairu) is a video game character in Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games. He is a muscular blonde Caucasian American with an American flag tattooed on his arms and hair the sticks up but has a flat top. Despite being a very American character, his design strongly resembles the Nazi (albeit a heroic and sympathetic character) Rudolf von Stroheim from Jojo no Kimyou no Bouken Part 2 Battle Tendency. In the live action movie he is also played by the very Belgian Jean Claude Van Damme. And of course, he is voiced in Japanese in the original Japanese releases as the games are Japanese made. He is a serious soldier with a grudge against Vega (M. Bison in North America) because he had apparently killed his best friend Charlie Nash. He is famous for his flash kick and his projectile Sonic Boom move. He is also married and has a daughter. He is the source of two memes. His theme song in Street Fighter II, is especially iconic and there are numerous videos claiming that the song goes with everything. These videos are created by taking a video clip, stripping out the original background music if any, and adding the Guile theme (usually the Hyper Street Fighter II Turbo mix) to it. His Street Fighter II ending also features the oft-quoted line, "Go home and be a family man!" He is voiced by Tsuchiya Toshihide (Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Marvel vs Capcom 2), Genda Tessho (Street Fighter EX and Street Fighter II V), Ishizuka Unsho (Capcom vs SNK 1-2), Nishikawa Takenosuke (SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos), and Yasumoto Hiroki (Street Fighter IV onwards).
