Now Viewing: shirai_kurokoTag type: Character A twin tailed thirteen year old girl from To Aru no Majutsu no Index. She is Mikoto's friend and fellow Judgment member. In the main To Aru no Majutsu no Index series, she is a supporting character, but she is one of the main characters of the Mikoto-centred spinoff To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. She is very openly in love with Mikoto and is often aggressive in her advances towards Mikoto who only sees Kuroko as a friend. She provides a good deal of the comedy in To Aru Kagaku no Railgun and is quite perverted; in one episode of Railgun, she famously and shamelessly wears a very revealing swimsuit that covers only a few spots of her body. In sharp contrast to her perverted streak, she speaks in a formal upper class lady-like manner. Kuroko often expresses jealousy whenever she sees Mikoto interact with Touma and senses the attraction Mikoto feels towards him even though Mikoto won't admit so herself. However, she is a capable fighter and a responsible and intelligent Judgement member and law enforcer. She only gets very excitable when Mikoto is involved, but she is able to rein herself in whenever she's working with Mikoto on an assignment. She has the ability to teleport herself and objects and often uses this ability in inventive ways. She is also skilled at hand to hand combat as well. She tends to end her sentences with "desu no" Kuroko's voice notably changes pitch often depending on her mood. She can be very high pitched and girlish when she's especially excited and switches to a lower sultry voice whenever she's acting seductive and even lower when especially angry. She is voiced by Arai_Satomi. Her portrayal of the character was well-received and she won the 2010 Best Supporting Actress award at the Annual Voice Actor Awards.
