As a character, she is notable for her old-fashioned militaristic speech patterns, and has a somewhat aggressive personality. She has long_hair, brown_hair in twintails with two white hair_ribbon accessories. At least in official art she has hair_between_eyes. Her sister ship, Chikuma_(Kancolle) is a notable siscon. Before upgrade, she wears a single_elbow_glove on her left arm that has a seaplane runway on it, a long green jacket belted at the waist (with some ambiguity as to whether it's acting as a short_dress, or she's just wearing no_pants), and asymmetrical_legwear in the form of a single_thighhigh sock on her left (runway) side. With battle gear (machinery) on, all her turrets are on her right side. After upgrade (remodel_(Kantai Collection)), she has a much more visually distinct appearance, wearing a shorter green jacket, a long black skirt with such extreme side_slits as to make it a pelvic_curtain, and no visible underwear (no_panties).
