She is initially an anti-social unicorn who has few friends and sees little value in friendship. She primarily associated with Spike, her assistant, and her beloved mentor Princess Celestia and doesn't spend much time with anyone else. However, this changes after Celestia sends Twilight to Ponyville to prepare for the Sun Festival with the explicit order that Twilight should make friends with the ponies there. Twilight ends up bonding with Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Applejack and learns that friendship is actually a very powerful force against evil. After her first major adventure, Twilight loses much of her anti-social traits and has no problem spending time with her newfound friends. She maintains her interest in books and remains a studious pony. While she is very knowledgeable and responsible, she can become obsessive compulsive and overly fixate on trivial issues and subsequently create bigger problems. She uses magic extensively when dealing with problems. She is generally a friendly pony although she often responds with sarcasm when dealing with some of the more outrageous behavior of the fellow residents of Ponyville. Perhaps due to her history of not socializing much, she can behave awkwardly at times. She often appears alongside Stocking from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt due to both characters coincidentally having a similar hairstyle and color scheme. Personified versions of Twilight also tend to resemble Stocking. Both FIM and PSG also debuted in 2010. However, Stocking's voice actress, Ise Mariya, did not play Twilight in the Japanese dub of FIM like some fans expected; instead, she was cast as Scootaloo. Twilight from G1 is suggested to be her mother and she makes a cameo in one episode of Friendship is Magic. She is voiced by Tara_Strong. Her singing voice is provided by Rebecca Shoichet.
