The anatomical differences of digitigrades are the extended feet (phalanges, carpals and tarsals), some also have shortened lower legs (tibia, fibula). Common examples are the hind legs of cats or dogs. Not to be confused with ungulates, such as equines. Depending on the artist, furry characters may be digitigrades.
