Now Viewing: airburst_grenade_launcherTag type: General エアバーストグレネードランチャー Grenade launchers that fire smart grenades that can be programed by signals from a digital computerized scope. These grenades can be detonated using the ballistic computer and laser rangefinder built into the smart scope, allowing the grenade to be fired past enemy cover and detonate in midair next to the target or perform a delayed detonation after penetrating enemy cover. Examples include the XM29 OICW, XM25 CDTE, Daewoo K11, the Papop, QTS-11, MK 47 Striker and the XM307 Advanced Crew Served Weapon. Some are a weird hybrid of an anti-materiel rifle and airburst grenade launcher that does not fit in any current weapon classification such as the QLU-11, Norinco LG5, and Barrett XM109 and can be considered sniper_grenade_launcher. In the latter three's case use the airbusrt_grenade_launcher, anti-materiel_rifle, rifle, and grenade_launcher tags. For airburst grenade launchers that also have an assault rifle/carbine attached such as the XM29 OICW, Daewoo K11, Papop, and QTS-11 be sure to also use the multi-weapon tag. Thanks to having grenades shaped like bullets (barring the Norinco LG5/QLU-11 and MK 47 Striker), the projectiles have a flatter trajectory allowing them be used in a direct fire role as opposed to having to aim in an arch as with traditional grenade launchers. However, they are not to be confused with a direct-fire_grenade_launcher such as a Inkunzi Paw (AKA Denel Paw-20, Paw-20 and Neopup) which was made as a more simple alternative to airburst grenade launchers as they do not use smart grenades.
