This may change if the system is abused. A couple minutes of length per video is pushing it. Relationship with GIFs: •WebM files on Gelbooru have been implemented to replace/augment the use of Animated_Gif and Animated_PNG files with browser-friendly files that have higher quality and faster download speed. The optional ability to add sound is a bonus as well. While the file-size of a ported gif may be smaller, we would prefer that you take the time to take advantage of the format's higher resolution and true color capabilities. It is also preferred and highly recommended that a file be posted in a format that matches the original; 480/720/1080 or whatever the native resolution of the original work was. Content Guidelines: •Cut-and-paste content from copyrights are currently subject to review and possible deletion by staff based on the relevance of its content. Please do not upload pointless content or entire episodes of raw footage. Soundless scenes without subs can be considered pointless, depending on the content. •Likewise, take it easy with MADs and AMVs. Nico Video and YouTube exist for a reason. •Full JAVs will not be permitted, even if they are broken up into pieces. •Whole scenes from anime/movies/etc, while not disallowed, are discouraged if they're without sound or subs, so ask yourself if the clip is really good enough for the website before uploading. ••Short sections of videogame cutscenes are fine as long as they don't exceed one minute, but actual gameplay footage should be kept to a minimum. Before uploading, ask yourself this: does the footage you're uploading show off something interesting and/or unusual about the game itself? If not, you probably shouldn't upload it. Gelbooru isn't a site for Lets Play videos or for videos showing off how good you are at the game; that's what YouTube is for. Replays of multiplayer videogames should not be uploaded at all. ••Scenes taken from live streams should also not be uploaded. •Uploads should not include more than 30 seconds of a copyrighted music piece. Do not upload entire anime OP/ED videos. Again, Nico Video and YouTube exist for a reason. Multiple samples each from a different song may be allowed as long as it's not pointless. This is still under moderator discretion. •Content from original Japanese works is given leeway for possibly containing material that may be offensive to users of this site. Per the ToS "You understand that there may be content on the Site that does not appeal to you or you feel is morally wrong." That stated, the same leeway may not be given to WebM content that has been edited by someone who was not the original creator. Edited content shall not include text or audio that violates our current policies/guidelines regarding the use of comments or forums found at gelbooru.com/index.php?page=wiki&s=view&id=207 including racism, illegal content, descriptions of illegal activities, encouragement of illegal activities, self promotion, political or financial gain. Spoilers are allowed but must be tagged. •Do not post a WebM what's sole purpose is to frighten or insult other users or staff. This includes "screamers". Trolling is a gray area. As an example; a short, well-made AMV Rickroll is pushing it but may be allowed. (Very subject to change.)
