It was adapted into an anime TV series by OLM that covers the entire manga. The anime was directed by Watanabe Ayumu, written by Seko Hiroshi and had a score composed by Okabe Keiichi, Takada Ryuichi, and Hoashi Keigo. The anime ran from April 15, 2022 to September 30, 2022. The manga was adapted into a visual novel called Summer Time Rendering: Another Horizon that both follows the manga's story and adds new exclusive content in the form of 6 original stories, a new character, and a new ending. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on January 26, 2023. Due to the plot twist heavy nature of the story, be wary of spoilers online. Ajiro Shinpei is a teen boy who is just coming back to his hometown of Hitogashima Island, which houses a small seaside community, after spending two years in Tokyo. However, his return is bittersweet at best. Although he's going to see his long time friends and family again, the reason he's returning is to attend the funeral of Kofune Ushio. Ajiro was orphaned as a young boy and was adopted into the Kofune family. Throughout his time in the Kofune household, he became close with Ushio and her younger sister Mio. The relationship became close to the point that they may not even see each other as brother and sister but as potential love interests. Sadly, Ajiro's last meeting with Ushio before leaving for Tokyo was tense and the two of them were never able to make it up to each other leaving Ajiro with regrets. Ajiro reunites with his friends and mourns together with them. He learns that Ushio had apparently passed away in an accident while attempting to rescue fellow Hitogashima resident Kobayakawa Shion from drowning. However, Ajiro's friend Sou does not fully believe the official account of her death, and suspects that it may have been a murder. Things get more dangerous for Ajiro and his friends once he and Mio are suddenly attacked by a person who somehow looks exactly the same as Mio. Ajiro is inspired to investigate what's really going on in his hometown and is soon forced in a race against time to fight a menace that threatens the island's entire population. . . The manga also received a spinoff titled Summer Time Rendering 2026: The Room that Dreams of Murder that was published on Shounen Jump+ on April 14–15, 2022.
