Now Viewing: park_sunghooTag type: Artist 박성후, 朴性厚 (JPN name) A Korean animator/director born in South Korea. He became interested in animation once he watched the original Macross, both the TV series and the Do you Remember Love? movie retelling. Afterwards, he applied to study animation at a university in South Korea and then moved to Japan to study at the Chiyoda Institute of Technology and Art. He began his professional career in Japan, joining Studio Comet in 2004. He spent the next decades working as an animator and became more prominent in the late 2010s-early 2020s. He made his directorial debut at Mappa, directing Garo: Vanishing Line in 2017 and followed that series with adaptations of God of High School and Jujutsu_Kaisen, the latter of which became his biggest success. In March 2021, Park formed his own studio E&H_Production and after finishing Jujutsu Kaisen 0 left Mappa to create his subsequent anime at said studio with his first original work being Ninja_Kamui. As an animator/director, Park specializes in action anime/animations, particularly fast-paced hand to hand martial arts fights.
