Most of humanity has been wiped out by a series of disasters including demons being unleashed from hell. It seems that humanity is in its dying phases, but a mysterious black-haired gun-wielding witch named Alicia Claus almost single-handedly begins to turn things around. Although she is pursuing her own agenda, she teams up with US soldier Maxwell Cougar to locate the source of the demons and save humanity. The game's combat fuses gunplay and magic; Alicia's broomstick-like gun can change into different forms once they are unlocked and ammo is supplied magically. Alicia can also use elemental spells like summoning tornadoes and lightning and can heal injured civilians and soldiers at the cost of her own health. After Maxwell is introduced, Alicia often ends up working together with the the remnants of the US Army in combat although like most games with AI controlled teammates, the player will still have to do most of the work.
