Ridiculous adception

Whenever I come onto this site I get hit with a nigh-on impenetrable barrier like 10+ ads deep. It's ridiculous, I have to sit here clicking through tens of ads to get to the next page. Can someone try and fix this please,as it's just frustrating and not exactly doing your attractiveness over other sites any favours. One ad is perfectly fine, hell two would be okay as well... but at the moment it's just taking the piss.

Technically there are only supposed to be a limited number of intermission ads that appear over a certain amount of time.

Cookie errors or something like that has been known to cause ads to appear more often than they should because the internet doesn't know you've seen them already. That'd be a problem on your part if that were the case.

That or one of the advertisement banners has found a way to slip additional pop-ups onto Gelbooru. Its kind of happened before.

Make sure your browser has cookies enabled. You should only receive the intermission ad two times per day.

If you have 10+ ads to get to the next page there is something wrong with your browser

It's very possible you are not waiting the 10 seconds to continue and opened up 10 tabs at once...

Actually, I don't think it brings up an intermission on every tab if you tab a bunch of images when an intermission comes up. At least I've never had it happen to me. In my experience the intermission is actually good about only popping up once even if you are browsing multiple tabs at the same time.

From what I understand, TwitchTV streamers get paid based on how many advertisements their viewers see, and we get paid a percentage of that by the streamers for advertising their streams.

Because of this, we can't get any money from the intermission ad until the streams inside of it start playing an advertisement, which requires at the very least that the streams load.

However, if you can just skip past the intermission ad, it's very unlikely that an ad will actually have loaded. And if you can just close the tab and open a new one, and the intermission doesn't appear again, then it will have accomplished nothing.

To prevent this, once the intermission ad is triggered, it will keep loading on every page capable of displaying it until the 10 second timer has ended.

I don't think it's quite coded this way. I think you can get a few pages loaded before it triggers the ad again if it you haven't clicked continue. It's a lot better that way to, since at least what I do is I'll just jump over to another tab and browse there until the ad time is done. If it kept loading the intermission on every page in that time period, it'd be a huge PITA. You'd also be hard pressed to browse enough to set it off again within 10 seconds, if memory serves.

Huh, might have to do with how I've got things set up on my end.

I'll mess with it when I get back from work.
