Old Gelbooru ui

Not a big fan of this new ui we're using here. Not only do I now actually have to go out of my way to find tags, but the images are frequently blocked by the clutter. I don't suppose there'd be a way to implement an option that allowed one to go back to the old ui?

On a side note

This thread uses the old ui, so I don't think it'd be too much to ask to give us the option to keep using it.

Tags blocked? Screenshot what you see please. This UI is being retired as soon as I finish converting our other pages. I'd recommend you upgrade your browser if you're having issues with display.

With all due respect

My browser isn't the issue here. The new ui is inferior to the old one. This is reminding me of what deviantart did with eclipse and the hot mess that site is now, functionality wise. sta.sh/01ehyqglollg

There is nothing there.

You can disable the previous and next buttons in your settings if they're in the way. This setting is saved locally per-device, so you can turn it off on mobile and leave it on for desktop sites if you like.

The "click to expand image" button will disappear when you tap it, and it won't show if you set it to always display the fullsize image.

As far as getting to the tags go, you can disable displaying comments. This is also saved locally per-device, so you can turn off the comments just for mobile.

With the dimensions of that image and your current browser viewport, the image would display exactly the same way even if it were the only element on the page. On all devices, images scale to fit horizontally within your browser viewport up until you click the button to expand the image.

Of course, you can also just have your browser show the desktop version and see the site like it's meant to be.

So instead of keeping a clean, functional ui, anyone who has issues has to either sacrifice MORE functionality for similar ease of use or keep those functions and suffer the consequences of a less user friendly design?

If I may be so bold as to ask.

Why not do what Danbooru does? Put the picture above everything else? Sure, that doesn't solve the tags issue, but at least there won't be anything in the way of the picture.

I guess you could see it that way. I've used about:config edits in Firefox for Android to make it so I never see mobile versions of any page since before that was even really an option in mobile browsers, so I'm mostly left out of the mobile design process anyway.

This is how that page displays for me: imgur.com/a/97h1nE5
