I had it open in my mess of tabs, then at one point when I closed and reopened the window I noticed it was giving an error I've never gotten before. I don't remember what the image was. What is it, why is it blocked, and in which countries is it available versus unavailable?

I kind of hope you have a bunch of those that get picked at random depending on tags on the deleted image:
404: loli not found (optional: FBI took her home)
404: shota not found (optional: FBI took him home)
404: breasts too large, browser out of memory from rendering
404: tentacles raped the server, image destroyed
and so on.

When a post is purged, everything about it is purged from the database. We don't have the tags anymore at that point to do something clever like that with.

You could use them as just completely random then, with the pool of error messages built around the more popular tags.

Why was it purged? Doesn't that normally take a lot effort? I thought purges are reserved only for illegal things so I wonder why the effort to purge something that's only a poor edit lol.

All deleted posts will eventually be purged. There's a gigantic backlog, and right now lozer isn't doing much purging because of working on the site layout, but they will all be purged.

Incorrect. Illegal things are the only things you'll see purged immediately after deletion, so they're generally the only ones people will actually see, but that's it.

This one was probably actually deleted by lozertuser himself. He doesn't often delete images, but when he does, he purges them immediately. Mainly so they don't sit and build up in the queue.

Just curious: if it's so easy to purge posts, then why is there any sort of backlog at all?

Because for about 5-6 years, there was only one person who could click the single button, and we delete hundreds of posts per day for being duplicates. Once a backlog builds up, its tendency is to remain a backlog, since clearing the backlog is a lot more work than just keeping it clear would be.
