Those are what are called deprecated tags, meaning they are redundant or simply not used. Try 1girl and/or solo to find what you want.

I recommend you te search *girl*, female_focus, *boy*, and male_focus.

If you only want just girls but no boys then search something like "*girl* glasses -*boy*"

You can also do 1girl multiple_girls or 1boy multiple_boys to cover 1 male/female to infinity. multiple_girls gets automatically added for the tags 2girls, 3girls up to 6+girls. (Same for boys.) Using - in front of them excludes all the other gender. Once you realize how it works, it's quite convenient for searching. (Except when someone didn't tag the image properly, but that's another issue entirely.)

I was going to ask the same question as OP, and this answer simply does not satisfy me. As a fan of futanari on female, I want to get rid of all men. It would be so much easier to type -male. It would cover everything. This 1boy, 2boy 3boy system is BULLSHIT. I'm sorry for my language, it's not directed at you. I'm just annoyed by this issue. When I search for futa on female, I could simply put "futa female" in the search and get exactly what I want. But noooo, I have to type in extra tags. And the more tags I have to put in, the more likely I'm missing images that weren't tagged specifically to the amount of girls.

The other booru site, rule34.xxx includes male and female tags, and it makes my life super fucking easy. But then I come here, and it has this retarded as fuck numbering system.

I mean, imagine if you applied the numbering system to futanari as well. I'd have to put in 1futa, 2futa, 3futa, like a chump. But as it is now, I can simply put in futanari, and not have to deal with extra tags. It. Just. Works.

If you want to see futas with no guys in sight you only have to search: futanari -1boy -multiple_boys
If you want want futa on female content just use the futa_with_female tag.

rule34.xxx's tagging has always worked exactly how I wanted. Save for a few misplaced pics here and there if I'm being completely honest. But what booru doesn't have a few stray images?

Putting "futanari -1boy -multiple_boys" does solve half of my issue. But you have to admit it's redundant to use 2 tags, where 1 would suffice. The futa_with_female tag isn't used for even half the futa on female images that gelbooru hosts. And in my effort to prove it, I just searched "futanari 1girl" and found out that futas are being counted as the 1girl. So I'm getting futa on male stuff with that search. So just now I narrowed the search down to "futanari 1girl -1boy -multiple_boys". And what do I get? Solo futanari. Interesting. Seems kind of silly to me to put futarnari in the girl category. And of course now I have to put in "futanari 2girls -1boy -multiple_boys" to see pictures of futas with partners. And half of those partners are other futa. That's a tangle.

I digress: The futa_with_female tag only contains 12,502 images. Even at a rough estimate, you can tell that the number is off. But you can test by taking my previous search and narrowing it down in further: "futanari 2girls -1boy -multiple_boys -futa_with_female -1girl -futa_with_futa". Now having removed the futa with female tag, you still see results of futas with females. A LOT of results. Also, despite having removed the futa with futa tag, I'm still getting a ton of futa couples.

All of this could be reduced down to 3 simple tags "futanari female -male". This will encompass any number of participants, so I don't have to specify the amount. And it will take out all men in one.
