I just tried to buy but it isn't working.

I am TRYING to make this work, but it just keeps cycling back.

To clarify, I chose the Gelbooru Athletic. I'm at the Cart page. I choose my country and press PayPal Checkout after logging in.

The paypal checkout popup appears. My shipping address is there, along with the card on paypal I have listed as my preferred option.

I click "continue". And this SHOULD lead to the next step.

Instead it goes "processing" then the popup disappears and reappears as..."choose a way to pay" and listing my Preferred from Paypal with a "retry" button or "add a credit/debit card".

No matter which option I choose, whether clicking "Retry" or filling out "add a debit card" it just goes back to the first popup.


What the fuck. I'm trying to help here, but if the site doesn't want me to donate or buy it's shit, what's the point?

Everything about the actual payment process is implemented and controlled by PayPal. We don't have any more control over it than you do. All I can suggest is trying with a different browser.

Well, I just tried subscribing to an artist in patreon, and I'm getting errors that the payment didn't get through. It worked before, since this isn't my first time signing up for someone (just my second), so maybe it IS just paypal.

I'll wait a day or two I guess, but I dearly hope this is just paypal or something, and not someone messing with my card, or my bank deciding this is suspicious/I shouldn't be using their card on porn.

Oh bloody hell.

I just tried sending some money to someone in paypal. It didn't go through, and the error message was talking about the card/bank. Keeping in mind I managed to send a donation to wikipedia via paypal like two hours ago.


It's the fucking bank. The bank is the one that isn't accepting paypal. Oh my god, is this stupid puritan country (Philippines) deciding I can't use my money on patreon or buying rule 34 shirts now?!

It's probably their anti-fraud measures. Give them a call and ask what happened. I had to stop using Paypal to pay for a server from a hosting company in Germany at one point because my bank kept flagging it as potentially fraudulent. This despite the fact I'd been paying it monthly for over a year before the first time they flagged it. Paying it directly with my debit card was okay with their fraud detection, but not through Paypal.

Banks be stupid sometimes.

Update on the situation. After several calls over multiple days with the bank, my paypal is finally working again.

I can send money to someone on paypal, and it's functioning on patreon. Haven't tested stuff like buying gumroad yet, but that's the idea.


STILL cannot purchase the shirt I want (the Catgirl Cross Country one).

It's repeating the same error where it loops from the initial normal checkout where I press "Continue" to the one where it says "choose a way to pay" and I press "retry" and nothing fucking happens as it loops back to the first one.

Now I'm really not sure.


...I just tried out buying something from e-junkies while typing this. DID NOT WORK.


Fuck. It feels like I'm limited to just Patreon and within-Paypal transfers. I need to talk to them again just in case, but overall this is really annoying. I mean, I guess the important stuff is available for me this way, but this still sucks? I can't buy a simple shirt, much less some juicy jpegs I was waiting for.


EDIT: Tried buying the shirt on a different browser. Now instead of looping, it just stays on the page saying "This card can't be used for this transaction." and there's no way forward.

At least that tells you the problem is definitely either Paypal or your bank. Have you tried doing the Paypal checkout without logging in? That may give you a better understanding of which one's at fault.

The weird thing is, it WORKS for other things. Like direct transfer of money in paypal to pay for this art I requested. Or patreon.


But seemingly everything else ain't working.

I'm assuming it's the bank for now, and will try to call them later.

Though I don't know what exactly is a redeem code. Is that something I find on the Paypayl purchase details, or something else?


EDIT: GOddamn, functionality is still partial. Payment for some doujins isn't getting through for example, or some hentai CGs from an original creator.
