Suddenly my blacklist has stopped working once again, as it has done in the past before. I've restarted and updated my browser, logged in and out, deleted cookies and then allowed them again. I've tried removing the blacklist entirely, adding a SINGLE thing on it, and then that single thing doesn't either get blocked completely, or not blocked at all.

Granted, I have a huge blacklist, but that's because there's too many tags for one specific thing, and some people just do not tag a lot of pictures properly. I have read that a large blacklist can also just not work at all, too, but I don't know what else to do.

Can someone help me with this, please?

Logout, delete cookies, exit browser completely, try searching anonymously with new tag blacklist, log back in, if fails, start trimming your list.

For mods, I have seen on older post dating back to 2011 suggesting that there is a hard limit on number of characters in the blacklist. Presumably this is send as part of the querying request hence the limit. Any chance of expanding on this limit, server-side permitting? It appears I have hit the limit and currently have to work on trimming down the tags. (Primarily just number of characters out of a series or poor quality artists). Any functionality supporting exception, such as blacklist greenhair but not cc from code gease? They cut down 25% of pages and are very helpful.

The limit is not for us to decide here. It's a part of the IP packet format used by every website. To use multiple packets for this we would need a big change to the back end and that's not likely to happen before 0.3.

If I'm not mistaken the limit for the blacklist, mytags and other options combined is 4096 characters. Any more than that boarders on potential abuse of the system if we let everyone send arbitrary amounts of data. Even Discord text is limited to 2000 characters per post.

As for OP, not only must cookies be enabled but Javascript must also be enabled for full site functionality. Not sure if that's the problem here though. You haven't mentioned what browser or device you are using.

Didn't work, but this isn't the first time that this has happened to me: every now and then it just has stopped working, even when my list was much shorter. Even the anon tag block you suggested did not work.




Discord's limit is 2,000. I am using Chrome on desktop/Windows, and I do have both of those enabled.

I have also tried several times again since my first post to shorten the list entirely, add one tag and try searching for that tag, only for that tag to STILL show up.

Searching for the tag you blacklisted overwrites that black tag. I will spell out what you do to check if the issue is with the functionality or how you use it.

1. Log out
2. Blacklist any tag of the first image that comes out on Posts. (Make sure that it is the only tag you are blacklisting.)
3. Refresh and click on Posts to check. Make sure you do not search with the tag or any other tag, leave it empty.
4. 99% of time it will not be there.

Worked that time I tried it. So what do I do from here, then? Just shorten my blacklist?

Is there any other fix for it besides shortening the blacklist?

I know it's almost three years later, but have you found any solution?
