Before now, since we didn't have a way to normalize or enforce this, many posts tagged "[character_name]_(cosplay)" have not had the "[character_name]" tag. We now have a way to do this, so it is now a requirement.

Do not remove these tags from uploads. While forgetting to add them when they're required isn't that big of a deal because we'll be periodically correcting them, intentionally removing them from posts is a form of tag poisoning.

This will be our official policy moving forward, so please keep it in mind while tagging.
