Twitch updates to allow Nudity on the platform (Update: Nevermind.)Posted on: 12/13/23 10:45PM
Twitch has now updated its rules regarding sexual content. Some forms of nudity are now allowed.
The reason? Some E-thots were doing a trend where they were either completely naked or topless, though positioning themselves where you couldn't see their naughty bits. It went viral very quickly and sparked some backlash. Twitch did not want to punish their clan of E-thots too harshly, and so they decided to finally update their rules to allow some forms of nudity and more sexual content to the platform.
This was after many years of people clamoring for game scenes with nudity to be displayed, and people protesting because accounts would get banned for a glimpse of a female nipple. This is seemingly going to alleviate that problem, while allowing more sex workers to continue their avenues without fear of a swift ban.
Personally, I don't often tune into twitch streams nor do I really care, but I do find it very fascinating that it took the desperation to protect and keep around sex workers to finally make a change people had wanted for many years.
