Pool limits; how to keep track of them
Posted on: 12/14/23 06:07PM

Two quick questions that I feel dumb for asking (but did not find in the atrophied "help" pages or in the wiki's "howto:*" search, so here goes):

1) How many posts can be in a pool?
2) Is there any way to keep track of pools you've created other than offline bookmarks? I didn't see them listed anywhere on my profile, and the search bar on the pools page doesn't search pools, but just goes back to the posts search. I don't see a way to search for pools created by a given user, search in pool titles, etc.

This feels basic, so I'm probably just missing something blindingly obvious.

1. As many as you want. However, past a certain number, it will no longer be searchable.

2. No, bookmarks are for the most part the only way to keep track of pools. We currently don't have a way to search for pools. Your own personal pools will be displayed at the top of the pools list, but that's only pools you set to be personal pools, i.e. only you can access them.

May not be the best solution but here's one way I handle pools here.

I start by writing down the pool name and ID that is unique to each one I create. If you don't know the pool ID you can find it in the URL attached to the pool. If you need to get to the pool first then find an image that you know is in that pool and check it's Pool Relationships and grab it's ID.

This is an example of a URL attached to each pool: gelbooru.com/index.php?page=pool&s=show&id=61058

Just replace the numbers at the end with the pool ID you want. Here's one of my ID's if you want to test this... 57289

I don't suppose I can get a rough order of magnitude on that? 1000? 10000? I get if it's also a fluid answer, or you don't want people deliberately creating huge pools. I'm trying to help by decreasing my favorites, but don't want to just shift the burden.

Thanks - I appreciate it. Just knowing that personal pools show up on top is enough for my purposes.
