You don't get it, Kirito is using two swords, this is how he can block that attack.

After beating the crap out of Eugene, Kirito unlocked a new trophy:

what glitch did he use? dual wielding is a skill that available to everyone in ALO, they just choose not to use it because of how difficult it is, and the scene prior to this was him using his smokescreen spell on eugene then borrowing leafa's sword.

actually according to the anime, ONLY ONE person can dual wield.
and since his main weapon is a two handed sword. he has a skill noone else has

obviously no one has ever heard of a parry, the sword only goes thru blocks

@lancerayne: You apparently didn't read the "in ALO" part of Anon2's comment. The anime didn't actually change anything. The Dual Wield skill is a unique skill to Kirito *IN SAO*.

In ALO, however, everyone can dual wield from the start, without needing some unique skill granted from the system (it just uses the standard one-handed sword skill), but, it being a game where there are no system-assisted sword skills and everything is based on your real life actual skill, basically nobody does it since dual wielding is actually really, really hard in real life (the same for kendo tournaments: dual wielding is actually allowed, just people aren't super-skilled enough to actually do it).

Also, Kirito's main weapon is not a two-handed sword. It's a one-handed sword that is very STR-heavy designed normally to be used by gnomes, who are a very large and power-oriented race. Kirito just happens to favor very STR-heavy swords, as already came up during the Lisbeth episode in the SAO arc.

Oh yeah, also, note that in the first ALO episode of the anime he stated that his Dual Wield skill is missing from the skill list, since an equivalent skill does not exist in ALO's system.
